A young red-haired man, with a deep 'X' scar across his cheek, was walking down a road. Sudden a quick young girl appeared- shouting at him that she had, finally, found him. The man oroed.
Apparently, the dark-haired lady though he is the legendary Battousai. She darted at him with a wooden sword, but missed since the man jumped. He swifted to a roof, but it broke and he fell in a bunch of pots. He went oroing.
Then the girl is confused, and asked him if he is Hitokiri Battousai, the man who just killed three men last night. The man said he's just a drifting wanderer. He got up and revealed his sword. She realized the sword is reversed, the blade is opposite.
"You can't kill anyone with this!!" The girl exclaimed. Then she started to yelling at him about the man she was looking for while holding the sword in front of the scared man.
Then a sound that make the girl stopped. She ran, yelling that it's the man she was looking for and wanted to confront him about the killing he did.
Meanwhile, a BIG guy, probably is the one who the aggressive girl is looking for, is slicing men. One of the cops say if he's the Hitokiri Battousai. Then the girl appeared, running toward to the man but missed. The big man sliced her shoulder instead. She swerved and went in combat, but the man sliced her wooden sword.
As she absorbing the idea that she have no weapon and is going to die, the big man raised and lower it...
...when the oroing man grabbed her and come down the sword through the wall.
"Your wooden sword is no match for against a live blade." The man with a scar spoke gently, holding her. Then the big man ran away yelling that he's the famous Hitokiri Battousai of Kamiya Kasshin School. The girl yelled for him to stop.
"It's no use." The red-haired man explained.
"Kamiya Kasshin is MY school!" She shouted. "He's using my school's name and our Fuji-kuri technique!" Then she fainted while he commented on her strong heart.

Later, in a room at the Kamiya Kasshin School, the girl is in a bed. Waking up quickly, she took her top down to check her injury by the big man. It was bandaged. She then talked to herself about what had happened. Then she smelled something.
The wanderer is making a soup in a pot outside. Two children are carrying food toward him and drop the food in the pot of soup while the man went,"Not too much!" The dark-haired girl got out and ask him what he's doing.
"Oh! You're awake! Your sisters are very adorable! We've become good friends!" The girls ran to him, hugging him and agreed with him.
"We're preparing for breakfast. Why don't you join us?" The man grinned. One of the sisters offered the older sister a piece of food. She grabbed it, taking a bite.
Sudden she winced. The man declared that she didn't like it.
"You're better at this than me." She commented, making faces. Kenshin boinked on ground.

While the wanderer is playing with the girls, the girl with injury talked with an elder man about him. She pointed out that he don't look like a swordman. Then he said that he's good with kids and blow powder which get on her face.
"So these aren't your little sisters, Miss Kaoru?" the wanderer asked.
"Right. They're Dr. Genzai's granddaughters." Kaoru said. The elder man is Dr. Genzai which worked at the school as a doctor for 30 years. When Kaoru's parents passed away, he took care of her.
"Wanderer, if you like, you can stay here at the dojo." Kaoru offered. "You did save my life and you don't look like you can afford an inn." The wanderer felt uneasily and said that she don't know him.
"Your past shouldn't not matter, right?" Kaoru smiled.

Kaoru is the master teacher of the school- explaining what the school is for. Her father invented the Kamiya Kasshin of technique, which served the purpose of saving people's lives.
"Now the murderer are using our Kasshin style. The Battousai is using my father's style to kill! I'll never forgive him!" Kaoru declared.
Dr. Genzai come in, says that the students is present. Kaoru is happy and she want to work with the students so they'll beat the Battousai. She went outside, thanking the students to come.
"We're sorry, we want to quit..." one of the students said. Kaoru paused with shock.
"Our friends have started making fun of us, because our style is being used to kill."
"My mother insists that I quit even though I said that we're not killers."
"Me too."
The students look sad and uncomfortable. They apolozied and left. Kaoru is disappointed, while the wanderer look at her from a distance.

Kaoru is in a tub, taking a bath.
"Even though I'm the only one left, I'll protect this dojo." Kaoru assured herself. Outside, the little sister told the wanderer that she think Kaoru is crying.
"No, I'll be fine." Kaoru said, then went down in the water. The wanderer listened and wondered.
"Miss Kaoru, what's wrong?" he asked, but come no respond. "She wouldn't...?"
Kaoru come up, breathes. The wanderer barges in.
"It's not worth it!" He said, but paused.

Kaoru locked him in a room.
"You can stay in here and think about what you did!" Kaoru yelled.
"Oro." The wanderer said. Then he asked Kaoru if she knew anyone of her students were left handed but have had their right thumb broken.
"Are you..? Are you suggesting that he learned his martial arts from us?! The Kamiya Kasshin School doesn't produce killers!" Kaoru argued. "That Hitokiri Battousai is a born killer! I must fight to protect my father's school!"
"I'm sure your father wouldn't want his school protected at the cost of his daughter's life." the wanderer made a point. He told her that he probably want her to be happy. Kaoru felt offended and got mad, ran away.

In the bed, Kaoru thought and thought about what happened. She got up and went back to where the wanderer is sleeping in and apologized that she was being rude to him. But he didn't respond so she got in, and he wasn't there.
"And I didn't even asked your name." Kaoru said.

Meanwhile, men are cheering the big man on, commenting that he just slice a wood, using his left arm! Everyone complimented him, calling him Gotei. He turned around, glancing at him.
"Ahh, I mean ... Master Battousai." Then everyone is excited to go to somewhere, that they've been waiting for a long time.

In a flashback, the same big man is killing some men. Kaoru the little girl is witnessing this. Kaoru's father entered and told Gotei why he is breaking the rules. He immedately darted and sliced his right thumb.
"With broken thumb, you will never ever hold a sword again." The father banished him from the dojo. Gotei looked at Kaoru, giving her a evil look. Kaoru gasped.

Kaoru woke up gasping. She now remember. She got up and check the records of the school. As she found the name in the records, Gotei appeared. He started to explained about how he had to suffer for 11 years because of her father, blah blah. Kaoru defend her father's name and grabbed the wood sword.
Attacking him, but got hurt instead in the left shoulder. He then grabbed her up in the air and told her that it's his goal to send her to hell and to destroy this dojo, but he want to have his followers to have fun with her. Kaoru stuggled while they laughed then she cried a tear..
... one of Gotei's men at the door gasped. He fell.
The wanderer stand in the doorway. He told him to let Kaoru go. Gotei refused, while Kaoru told the wanderer that he can't beat Gotei. The wanderer walked toward him, explaining that the idea of saving people using the techique is unrealistic but he like her idea than its true nature.
Gotei don't like the way he talked so he commanded his followers to kill him no matter what. The wanderer simply jump and span around, took out five people at once. He jump again, taking out three people, while people gasped in shockment. Then Gotei studied him, realizing something. The wanderer looked at him, pointing out that the real Battousai don't use that kind of technique. Kaoru realized that the wanderer is the REAL Battousai!
Gotei told him there should be only ONE Battousai and he believe he fit the neccessary requirements to be the Battousai. As he attacked, the wanderer disappeared to above of him. The wanderer sliced his left fingers (not all the way) and then he said that he don't have the fond to have the name of Battousai.
"But I will not pass it on to a man like you." The wanderer put his reversed sword away. One of the knocked out men got up and realized that nobody had been killed.
"Go tell the police what he had done. Go! Now!" The wanderer commanded. The scared man ran away. The wanderer turned to Kaoru, apologizing that he had deceieved her.
"It's something I don't want to talk about." The Battousai said. Then he walked away, saying good-bye.
Suddenly, Kaoru yelled at him that she couldn't run the Kasshin school all by herself.
"Why can't you stay and help me a little?" Kaoru begged. "I told you, I don't care about your past!"
The wanderer explained that it would be bad example for the Battousai to stay with her, then Kaoru yelled that she just WANTED to have the wanderer to stay..... then she covered her mouth and span around.
"At least tell me your name." Kaoru asked quietly.
"Himura. Himura Kenshin." He spoke.
"If you want to leave....!" She seems to be too pride to admit that she really want him to stay. Then she sighed.
"I am a little tired of my journey."
So, they agreed and then Kenshin said that he might accident enter the room again when she's taking a bath.
"No problem, I could..." Kaoru took a hit in the air, giving the example if that happen again.
Only Kenshin's face was in the way.
Naturally, Kenshin let out a ORO sound.
"Idiot! I though you would dodge it!" Kaoru gulped.

As Dr. Genzai helped Kenshin with the injury by Kaoru, Kaoru thoughed to herself, "So now we have someone new staying with us at Kamiya dojo..."
